This Summer...
Become
a Part of the
International
Youth Orchestra ASP 2013!
Over
100 young musicians from many countries around the world will
converge in Loudoun to form the INTERNATIONAL YOUTH ORCHESTRA ASP
2013. The event begins in Leesburg on July 1, when the orchestra
begins its four-day rehearsal session. It concludes with 3
performances: an Independence Day Concert on July 4, a gala
performance at Reston on July 5 and a finale performance on July 6.
American
participants approved by audition may register to participate.
Tuition for the program is $150 for students hosting an international
guest, and $250 for non-host participants.
YMPPA invites you to participate in this wonderful summer event by volunteering as a host family for the international musicians!
“Year
after year, our family looks forward to this event. It’s one of the
highlights of our summer. We’ve made such good friends with the
children… they feel like family!”
From
our host families survey---
What
do host families do?
Provide
transportation to and from the airport (Dulles).
Provide
room and board for the stay (June
29– July 7).
Provide
transportation to and from rehearsals and concerts
(Leesburg/Sterling/Reston).
Make
new friends abroad!
During
the event, host families have an opportunity to observe the
rehearsals of the International Youth Orchestra ASP 2013, and have
special seating at concerts. Host families are also invited to
participate in special activities. It is a great opportunity to
expose children to a different culture, teach them about other parts
of the world, and support and promote the appreciation of classical
music. If you are interested in being a host family, contact us at
info@ymppa.org or by phone at (703) 628-2589.
